Do something different next 90 days than you did 90 days ago. Maybe there's a project you've been itching to start, a book you've been meaning to read, or a new technique (GenAI) you've been wanting to learn. Now is the perfect time to get started. Whatever it is, big or small, I challenge you to go for it. Think about where you'll be 90 days from now. You could be looking back, proud and amazed at how much you've done. Your future self will thank you! …meer

What you become is much more valuable than what you get. For jobs, ask what you are becoming, not what you are getting. In 2015, I made a career leap from teaching math to kids to creating report cards using SQL, unaware it would be the first step on my path to data science. Looking back, I've realized - becoming a data scientist wasn't just about mastering coding or perfecting data visualization. It was about embracing a mindset of continuous learning and curiosity, about reshaping my thinking to find patterns and insights in the chaos of data. Today, I'm not just a data scientist; I'm a lifelong learner, a problem-solver, a passionate seeker of insight. And I wouldn't have it any other way. …meer

As a data scientist you have probably heard the saying "what gets measured, gets improved". It sounds so simple but it is very powerful. Imagine trying to lose weight without ever stepping on the scale. It's guesswork. But with data, the scale, your efforts become precise. You know what works, what doesn't. You progress. No matter the industry, this rule applies. From tech giants to your local coffee shop, data is the game-changer. …meer

Here is a great quote attributed to Coleman Cox, which I find to be very inspiring. "I am a great believer in luck. The harder I work, the more of it I seem to have." We often associate 'luck' with chance or some random. But isn't it fascinating how 'lucky' individuals are often the hardest workers? Remember that time when you put in extra hours to prepare for an important meeting or project? Or when you relentlessly refined your skills to achieve mastery? That's you making your own 'luck'! Instead of waiting for luck to find us, let's shape it with our effort. Let's nurture and grow it with our skills, dedications, and desires. …meer

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” WINSTON CHURCHILL Life is full of ups and downs. We all have our victories and our losses. But, what really counts isn't just whether we win or lose, it's whether we choose to continue or give up when the going gets tough. That's where courage comes in. Courage is the drive that keeps us moving forward, even when we're faced with the biggest, scariest challenges. Remember, the one who sticks it out till the end is the one who truly conquers. Keep going and stay positive! …meer

When we face with an overwhelming problem, a big project or task, our natural response is often to freeze or follow decisions made on our behalf - it's not our fault, it's simply how our brain works. However, to achieve extraordinary success, we should discard limiting narratives, take significant actions, and discover effective strategies. That's when we unlock the potential for true miracles. …meer

Learning from Tay’s introduction - The Official Microsoft Blog blogs.microsoft.com

19 Feb 2026

In 2016, Microsoft launched an AI chatbot named Tay, designed to interact with X (Twitter back then) users and learn from their conversations. Tay's mission was to simulate human-like dialogue and adapt to natural speech patterns- what ChatGPT is doing today. But within just 24 hours, Tay became inappropriate, offensive, and harmful. What went wrong? Tay was designed to learn from user interactions but lacked filters to safeguard against malicious inputs. The chatbot absorbed the harmful language it encountered online, underscoring a critical lesson: Without strong data security and governance measures, even the most advanced AI models can go off the rails. As AI continues to shape our world, it's essential that we: - Protect the integrity of the data our models learn from. - Implement robust checks and balances to ensure responsible AI behavior. - Ensure transparent, ethical practices when building and deploying AI systems. AI is powerful, but with great power comes great responsibility. Let’s build systems that are secure, ethical, and resilient against misuse. You can find more about it here on Microsoft blog: …meer

If you have followed me for some time, you know that I have been talking about Agents as the most important aspect of the current (Gen)AI Revolution. I have written about agents in my blog () and in our LLM survey (). But, this whitepaper by Google colleagues is excellent. It is both comprehensive and accessible. Among other things, it includes a great and simple definition of an agent as "an application that attempts to achieve a goal by observing the world and acting upon it using the tools that it has at its disposal". It also presents a great simple architecture of agents that includes Tools, Model, and and Orchestration component that itself contains Profile, Goals, and Instructions; Memory; and Model-based Reasoning and Planning. Great reference document. Bookmark or download. …meer
